Li Ji slandered with cunning, plotting with two favorites. They defamed and killed the respectful prince, harming the loyal and filial. Shen Sheng hanged himself; Chong Er fled in exile.

地上有水為比，信任匯聚。然讒妃毒化信任，則國本崩裂。驪姬讒喜，與二嬖謀——晉獻公寵妃驪姬勾結二嬖臣，誣陷恭謹之太子申生以弒父之罪。申生守禮不辯，自縊而死。忠孝被賊害，重耳奔逃，流亡十九年後方歸國稱霸。此即《左傳》所載驪姬之亂，春秋最慘烈之宮廷劇變。從比至履（上天下澤），親附之水化為踐虎尾之險——內部信任遭蠹蝕，則每一步皆與覆亡比鄰。
