天下有山，遯之象。渠戎萬里——戎族邊疆萬里。晝夜愁苦——日夜辛苦。櫜甲戎服——披甲穿戎衣。雖荷不賊——負重不受傷。鷹鸇之殘，害不能傷——鷹鸇雖殘不能傷人。邊境守衛之苦而甲冑護身。從遯至節（澤上有水），退避之山化為有度之節制。節者制數度議德行。士兵以甲冑為限以軍紀為度，退而不潰。限制之力在於明確邊界，退避化為有紀律之堅守。
