明入地中，地中有山，謙之象。「狼虎所宅，不可以居，為我患憂。」狼虎盤踞之所，人不可居，此為暴政之朝堂的直接隱喻——如紂之時，佞臣如虎狼環伺，賢者無立錐之地。從明夷至謙，應對之道在於隱退自抑。山藏於地中，以低姿態蓄積力量。不可於虎穴與虎鬥，唯有裒多益寡、默默積蓄，以謙德化解狼虎之險。
