山上有火，旅人躬履孔德，以待束帶而朝。「文君燎獵」——文王出獵於渭水之畔。「呂尚獲福」——呂尚（太公望）遇文王而得用。「號稱太師，封建齊國」——拜為太師，封於齊國。此頌旅人以自修之德感召聖主：太公渭水垂釣非閒居，乃有備以待。從旅至鼎（木上有火），火燃木上，生熟相變，鼎為國之禮器。太公即為鼎之化身——異鄉之客以德入朝，成為文明秩序之核心。
